Synopsis

John Crowley, a working-class father, is on the verge of corporate advancement when his two young children are diagnosed with Pompe disease, a rare condition that impairs the body's ability to break down sugar. With the support of his wife, he leaves his career behind and partners with the unconventional specialist Dr. Robert Stonehill to establish a biotech company aimed at developing a cure in time to save his children's lives. As Dr. Stonehill works to validate the controversial theories that have made him an outcast in the medical field, a strong bond forms between the two unlikely collaborators.
