Synopsis

Tracy Turnblad, a cheerful and plump teenager, auditions for *The Corny Collins Show*, Baltimore's most popular dance program, and secures a prominent position on the show. As her fame grows, she becomes determined to assist her friends and challenge the racial segregation that has long been a part of the show's structure.
