Financier Johnny Case plans a carefree holiday to win over his fiancée Julia, only to discover she expects him to abandon his independence and take a coveted job at her powerful father's bank, forcing him to choose love or liberty.

Synopsis
Johnny Case, an independent-minded financier, has found his ideal partner in Julia Seton, the indulged daughter of a wealthy and socially influential industrialist, and she has accepted his proposal. However, when Johnny arranges a vacation for the two to enjoy their youth together, Julia has different intentions—she wants Johnny to take a position in her father's bank.
