Joe Dirt
Optimistic janitor‑turned‑road‑tripper Joe Dirt hits the highway in a battered car, determined to track down the parents who vanished at the Grand Canyon when he was eight, while battling eccentric strangers, dead‑end jobs and his own relentless bad luck.
“He came. He cleaned. He conquered.”
Synopsis
Joe Dirt is a janitor with a mullet hairdo, acid-washed jeans, and a dream to find the parents he lost at the Grand Canyon when he was an eight-year-old boy raised in a trailer park. Now, blasting Van Halen in his jacked-up economy car, the irrepressibly optimistic Joe hits the road alone in search of his folks.

Why a floor?
This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.

⚖️ Fell short of break-even — grossed 1.8× its budget
Why 2.5×?
Cinemas keep roughly half of every ticket sold, and a wide release’s marketing often costs about as much again as the film — so a movie needs to gross around 2.5× its production budget just to break even theatrically. It’s a rule of thumb, not the studio’s ledger (home video and streaming come later).

Every stage matters — pitch decks and treatments from development, location scouts and table-reads from pre-production, set photos and crew anecdotes from production, edit-bay notes from post, and press kits, festival memories, or marketing ephemera from distribution.
