Biography

Liz Torres is an American actress, singer, and comedian known for her work in television. She gained prominence for her role as Mahalia Sanchez on the NBC comedy series *The John Larroquette Show* (1993–1996), for which she received two Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Torres also played Patricia "Miss Patty" LaCosta on *Gilmore Girls* (2000–2007), a WB family comedy-drama created by Amy Sherman-Palladino. Earlier in her career, she appeared as Julie Erskine on *Phyllis* and had a recurring role as Teresa Betancourt on *All in the Family* during the 1970s.
