Synopsis
After squandering his grant money, despondent and recently widowed anthropologist James Krippendorf must produce hard evidence of the existence of a previously undiscovered New Guinea tribe. Using grass skirts, makeup, and staged rituals, he transforms his three troubled children into the Shelmikedmu, a fictional primitive culture whose habits captivate scholars. However, when a spiteful rival threatens to expose Krippendorf's deception, the rival becomes involved in the scheme as well.
