Mr. Jones Has a Card Party

Since his last escapade, Mr. Jones had made considerable efforts to improve the reputation he had acquired among the ladies of the Temperance League. However, the ordeal was beginning to take a toll on him, and his restrained emotions were on the verge of eruption when an opportunity finally presented itself. The league had arranged to attend a three-day convention out of town, and upon Mrs. Jones's departure, Jones sent a note to Smith, instructing him to bring the gang for a "Prayer Meeting" and reminding him not to forget the "fixings." The gang did not delay in arriving, as they recognized that every moment of hesitation meant missing out on a prime opportunity for fun.
