Teenagers Ellis and Neckbone discover an abandoned riverboat and strike a deal with charismatic fugitive Mud to claim it as their own, but when Mud’s dangerous past catches up and family turmoil threatens their home, they must outwit the law and their own insecurities to secure the boat before it slips away.
