Young writer Vada sets out on a cross‑country quest to uncover the mystery of her absent mother for a school essay, racing against a looming deadline while confronting family secrets that could reshape her identity.

Synopsis
Vada Sultenfuss is about to go on holiday and is given an assignment: to write an essay about someone she admires but has never met. She decides to write about her mother, only to realize she knows very little about her. With her father's agreement, she travels to Los Angeles to stay with her Uncle Phil and conduct research on her mother.
