Synopsis

Defense attorney Martin Vail takes on cases primarily for money and prestige rather than a commitment to justice. His latest assignment involves representing an altar boy who has been accused of the brutal murder of the archbishop of Chicago. Vail soon finds himself facing off against his former pupil and ex-lover. As the case unfolds, tensions rise and the Church becomes a central element in the unfolding drama.
