Shortcut to Happiness
“The devil is in the details.”
Synopsis
In Manhattan, aspiring writer Jabez Stone is struggling: he cannot sell his novels, lives in a poor-quality apartment, and has little success with women. When his friend Julius Jenson sells his novel for $190,000 to an editor, Jabez feels envy and impulsively promises to sell his soul to the devil for success, accidentally causing a woman's death with his typewriter. The devil arrives at his door, resolves the situation, and makes a contract with Jabez. Although his low-quality novels receive poor reviews, they become best-sellers; Jabez becomes wealthy and gains success with women, but neglects his friends. Eventually, Jabez meets publisher Daniel Webster, who offers him a chance to break the contract with the devil.

How many hands made this film
The scale of the collaboration
Principal cast & crew: 25
These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.
Why a floor?
This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
