Biography

Anthony Hopkins is an actor known for his role in *The Silence of the Lambs*. He was born to Muriel Anne (Yeats) and Richard Arthur Hopkins, a baker, both of whom were of half Welsh and half English descent. Influenced by Richard Burton, Hopkins decided to study at the College of Music and Drama, graduating in 1957. In 1965, he moved to London and joined the National Theatre, invited by Laurence Olivier, who recognized his talent.
