The Wicker Man
A skeptical sheriff travels to a remote island to investigate the disappearance of a young girl, only to uncover a terrifying pagan cult that may force him to become the centerpiece of their ancient ritual.
“Some sacrifices must be made”
Synopsis
A sheriff investigating the disappearance of a young girl from a small island discovers a series of unsettling clues that suggest the case may be more complex than it initially appears. As he delves deeper into the mystery, he uncovers secrets long buried by the island's residents, forcing him to confront both the community's hidden past and his own personal demons. The investigation takes a dark turn as the sheriff realizes the girl's disappearance may be connected to a string of unsolved cases, challenging his ability to distinguish between truth and deception in a place where everyone seems to have something to hide.

Why a floor?
This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.

Why 2.5×?
Cinemas keep roughly half of every ticket sold, and a wide release’s marketing often costs about as much again as the film — so a movie needs to gross around 2.5× its production budget just to break even theatrically. It’s a rule of thumb, not the studio’s ledger (home video and streaming come later).
