Synopsis

Mark Renton, a heroin addict, navigates a series of poor decisions and attempts at sobriety alongside his unreliable group of friends: Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud, and Tommy. He is also in a relationship with Diane, an underage girl who accompanies him on his journey. After achieving a period of sobriety and relocating from Edinburgh to London, Mark discovers that he cannot fully escape the life he left behind when Begbie and Sick Boy reappear, dragging him back into his old world.
