Synopsis
In 1947, Lord Mountbatten took on the role of the last Viceroy of India, tasked with overseeing the country's transition to independence. He resided in the upper floors of the official residence, which had long been the home of British rulers, while approximately 500 Hindu, Muslim, and Sikh servants lived in the lower parts of the house.
