Biography

Gillian Anderson is an American/British actress known for her work in film and television. She became widely recognized for her role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the Fox series *The X-Files* (1993–2002), which positioned her as a significant figure in the science fiction and mystery genres. Anderson also appeared in *The House of Mirth* (2000), portraying socialite Lily Bart in a film directed by Terence Davies.

In later years, she played DSU Stella Gibson in *The Fall* (2013–2016), a BBC/RTÉ crime drama. More recently, she portrayed sex therapist Jean Milburn in the Netflix comedy-drama *Sex Education* (2019–2023) and appeared as British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the fourth season of *The Crown* (2020).
