Biography
Gillian Anderson is an American/British actress known for her diverse and acclaimed roles across film and television. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the Fox series *The X-Files* (1993–2002), a role that established her as a prominent figure in science fiction and mystery genres. Anderson also starred in *The House of Mirth* (2000), playing socialite Lily Bart in a film directed by Terence Davies.
In later years, she took on roles in crime and drama series, including DSU Stella Gibson in *The Fall* (2013–2016), a BBC/RTÉ crime drama. More recently, she appeared as sex therapist Jean Milburn in the Netflix comedy-drama *Sex Education* (2019–2023) and portrayed British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the fourth season of *The Crown* (2020).
