Biography
Cheerio Meredith was born Edwina Lucille Hoffmann on July 12, 1890 in Missouri. She began her career as a stage actress before moving into film and television. She played the regular roles of Emma Brand and Emma Watson on *The Andy Griffith Show* (1960) and appeared as Lovey Hackett in *One Happy Family* (1961). Meredith died in 1964 after a lengthy illness, with the causes undisclosed.
