Biography

Born in Brooklyn, Don Diamond is best known for his role as the cunning yet bumbling and cowardly subordinate Crazy Cat in the cult western comedy series *F Troop* (1965), opposite Frank DeKova's Chief Wild Eagle. By the time he landed that role, Diamond had already been acting for many years, beginning in radio in the early 1940s, where he demonstrated a talent for dialects, particularly Spanish. His fluency in the language led many to believe he was of Spanish or Mexican descent, despite his family's Russian origins. His proficiency in Spanish earned him the role of the Mexican sidekick to Kit Carson in the early TV series *The Adventures of Kit Carson* (1951), as well as a recurring role as a Spanish corporal in the Disney series *Zorro* (1957). In addition to his television and film appearances, Diamond also performed extensive voice-over work for cartoons and commercials.
