Biography
Elem Klimov was born on 9 July 1933 in Stalingrad, Nizhne-Volzhskiy kray, RSFSR, USSR (now Volgograd, Volgogradskaya oblast, Russia). He worked as a director and actor, and is known for the films *Come and See* (1985), *Rasputin* (1981), and *Pokhozhdeniya zubnogo vracha* (1965). He was married to Larisa Shepitko. Klimov died on 26 October 2003 in Moscow, Russia.
