Biography

Raymond Hatton, the son of a physician, began his film career in 1909 and went on to appear in nearly 500 films. In the early silent era, he formed a comedy team with the large, burly Wallace Beery. Hatton became best known for his role as the tobacco-chewing, hot-tempered Rusty Joslin in the Three Mesquiteers series. He also appeared in the Rough Riders series and served as Johnny Mack Brown's sidekick. His final Western film was Requiem for a Gunfighter (1965).
