Cheyenne

Cheyenne Bodie was a tall, imposing figure, a former army scout who traveled west after the American Civil War and took on a variety of jobs, including cowboy and lawman, always emerging as a larger-than-life hero. *Cheyenne* is an American western television series consisting of 108 black-and-white episodes that aired on ABC from 1955 to 1963. The show was the first hour-long western and, in fact, the first hour-long dramatic series of any kind with continuing characters to last more than one season. It was also the first series produced by a major Hollywood film studio that was not based on its existing film properties, and it marked the beginning of a long line of original series produced by Warner Brothers under the supervision of William T. Orr.
