Biography
Shelley Lee Long is an American actress, singer and comedian who portrayed Diane Chambers on the sitcom Cheers. The performance earned her five Emmy nominations, including a win in 1983 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, and two Golden Globe Awards. She later appeared as the same character in three episodes of the Cheers spin‑off Frasier, receiving an additional Emmy nomination for guest performance. From 2009 to 2018 she had a recurring role as DeDe Pritchett on the ABC comedy series Modern Family.
