Biography

Steven Zaillian is an American screenwriter, film director, and producer known for his work in film. He received an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a WGA Award, and a Golden Globe for his screenplay for *Schindler's List* (1993). Zaillian has also been nominated for Academy Awards for his work on *Awakenings*, *Gangs of New York*, *Moneyball*, and *The Irishman*. In recognition of his contributions to screenwriting, he was awarded the Distinguished Screenwriter Award at the 2009 Austin Film Festival and the Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement from the Writers Guild of America in 2011. He is also the founder of Film Rites, a film production company.
