Suzanne Krull

Suzanne Krull was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Southern California with her family during high school. After graduating, she auditioned and was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she completed two years of the program. She was then invited to return and perform with their Production Company. Following that, she became a founding member of The Fountainhead Theatre Co. While working with the company, she participated in numerous other local Los Angeles theatre projects, performing in over 30 plays over a ten-year period and earning a DramaLogue Best Actress nomination. She also began doing stand-up comedy and was soon invited to perform on the festival circuit, including the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival and the Vail Comedy Festival, as well as becoming a regular at The Hollywood Improv. Despite her success in stand-up, she missed the collaborative nature of stage acting. In her 30s, she began receiving more acting opportunities and appeared in numerous guest and recurring roles on television shows such as *Nash Bridges*, *N.Y.P.D. Blue*, *The Practice*, *Sabrina the Teenage Witch*, *Buffy*, *Charmed*, *Nip Tuck*, *LOST*, *Desperate Housewives*, *Perfect Couples*, *Mr. Sunshine*, and *PSYCH*. She starred opposite Madonna in *The Next Best Thing*, worked with Jim Carrey in *How the Grinch Stole Christmas*, and appeared alongside Leslie Nielsen in *Camouflage* (2001), among other roles. While filming in Vancouver, she used her downtime to write a screenplay, which was quickly optioned by a major studio. She wrote, starred in, and produced the short film *Sam and Mike*, which won several festival awards for Best Short Film. She also wrote one-act plays produced by The Hidden Theatre Co. and had her short story, "The In and Out," published in *JANE* Magazine after winning its short story contest. In 2002, she began offering one-on-one audition coaching for actors, which she found to be a valuable way to refine her own skills while helping others. She was married to stand-up comedian, actor, and writer Peter Spruyt, with whom she had a daughter, Harper Joy. Krull died suddenly on July 28, 2013, in Los Angeles from a ruptured aortic aneurysm at the age of 47.
