Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
A young orphan discovers on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard and must leave his cruel relatives to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he learns he is the only survivor of a deadly encounter with the feared dark wizard Lord Voldemort.
“Let the magic begin.”
Synopsis
Harry Potter has spent his entire life living under the stairs at his aunt and uncle's house. On his 11th birthday, he discovers that he is a powerful wizard and has a place reserved for him at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As he begins to learn how to use his newfound abilities with the guidance of the school's kind headmaster, Harry uncovers the truth about his parents' deaths and the identity of the villain responsible.

A crew of 855+ credited
Why a floor?
This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.

💰 Box-office hit — grossed 7.8× its budget
Why 2.5×?
Cinemas keep roughly half of every ticket sold, and a wide release’s marketing often costs about as much again as the film — so a movie needs to gross around 2.5× its production budget just to break even theatrically. It’s a rule of thumb, not the studio’s ledger (home video and streaming come later).
