A fired reporter fabricates a desperate “John Doe” letter and must scramble to keep the hoax alive when the invented protest sparks a real grassroots movement that threatens both her career and the powerful newspaper empire she works for.

Synopsis
After being fired, reporter Ann Mitchell publishes a fabricated letter from an unemployed man named "John Doe," who claims he will commit suicide in protest of societal problems. The newspaper is compelled to rehire Ann and brings in John Willoughby to pose as "John Doe." Ann and her editors exploit the story for maximum impact, but the fictional "John Doe" philosophy gains traction and sparks a widespread political movement.
