Joe Lando

Joseph John Lando (born December 9, 1961 in Prairie View, Illinois) is an American actor best known for his role as Byron Sully on the television series *Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman*. He attended Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Before pursuing acting full-time, Lando worked as a cook in a Hollywood restaurant while taking acting lessons. His first acting role was as a patrolman in *Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home*. He gained further recognition for his role as Jake Harrison on the soap opera *One Life to Live*, and later co-starred in *Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman*, portraying the love interest of Michaela Quinn. Lando has also appeared in the television series *The Guiding Light* and *Higher Ground*, which he also executive produced. His film credits include *Seeds of Doubt* (1996) and *No Code of Conduct* (1998), and he has appeared in a minor role in the series *Summerland* alongside Lori Loughlin. Lando is of Italian, Russian, and Polish heritage. He married Kirsten Barlow on May 24, 1997. The couple has four children: Jack Neville Lando (born June 3, 1998), Christian Antonio Lando (born July 7, 2001), Kate Elizabeth Lando (born April 3, 2003), and William Joseph Lando (born July 20, 2007).
