Colette, a driving examiner at the East Hollywood DMV, develops feelings for her coworker Noa while dealing with playful teasing from her colleagues Gregg, Vic, and Ceci. At the same time, new manager Barb takes charge and inspires the team to work together to prevent their branch from being shut down.

Colette becomes concerned that Noa might quit after a new employee leaves due to the DMV's chaotic environment, and she attempts to improve the situation despite Gregg's warnings. At the same time, the heat of a sweltering Los Angeles day makes conditions even more difficult for employees and customers, as the air conditioner barely functions.

Colette administers Noa's driving test while Ceci assists Barb in preparing for a professional photo shoot with her new manager.
