Star Trek: Nemesis
Captain Jean‑Luc Picard must rally the Enterprise crew to stop a ruthless Romulan usurper who is also his own cloned doppelgänger, before the tyrant’s secret weapon can annihilate the Federation.
“A generation's final journey begins.”
Synopsis
On the way to William Riker's honeymoon with Deanna Troi on her home planet of Betazed, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise receive a message from Starfleet about a coup that has placed a new Romulan political leader, Shinzon, in power. Shinzon claims to seek peace with the human-backed United Federation of Planets. Upon entering Romulan territory, Picard and his crew discover that Shinzon is human, a former slave from the Romulan sister planet of Remus, and has a secret, shocking connection to Picard himself.

A crew of 254+ credited
Why a floor?
This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.

⚖️ Fell short of break-even — grossed 1.1× its budget
Why 2.5×?
Cinemas keep roughly half of every ticket sold, and a wide release’s marketing often costs about as much again as the film — so a movie needs to gross around 2.5× its production budget just to break even theatrically. It’s a rule of thumb, not the studio’s ledger (home video and streaming come later).
