During Intern Week, most are enjoying time off, but Hercules feels trapped working at a fast food restaurant. Seeking help from his father Zeus, he is given the task of guiding Apollo's chariot across the sky.

After King Salmanaous falsely claims to be Zeus and is struck down by the real Zeus for his deception, the citizens of Thessaly seek a new leader and choose Hercules to rule them.

Hercules and Icarus fight to defend the city, and in the aftermath, Icarus renames the Greek gods for Roman audiences, angering Hades, who is given the name Pluto.

Following the events of the Hercules movie, Hercules is in the process of moving out of Phil's home into a new place. While going through old items, Meg discovers Hercules' yearbook, which he quickly tries to hide to avoid embarrassment. The episode features a series of flashbacks presented as a clip show, culminating in a musical number.
