While Bree gives Chuck a ride, a smell becomes noticeable. Gabrielle seeks out a priest in order to help Carlos with his problem. Ben Faulkner, a new neighbor, meets Renee. Susan withdraws from her friends because of what happened to Alejandro.

Gabrielle teaches Carlos how to dance on a strip pole, helping him gain confidence in his abilities. Susan looks for a way to punish herself after feeling guilty about something. Renee forms a connection with one of the senior center's customers, finding common ground with the visitor. Meanwhile, Tom and Lynette are curious about why Parker attended a late-night party. Bree uncovers details about Chuck's past, leading to new revelations about his character.

Lee is having an issue with Jenny. Susan and Carlos try to identify the individuals who tagged the wall with graffiti. Lynette becomes suspicious of Lydia and her fiancé.

At a yoga class, Lynette and Renee observe Jane, Tom's new girlfriend. Meanwhile, Gabrielle attempts to make an impact during a PTA meeting, Bree uncovers Danielle's activities, and Susan confronts art class teacher Andre Zeller.

Tom and Lynette visit a couples counselor to address their separation. Bree attempts to assist the city council with its efforts to address the issue of homelessness. Meanwhile, Carlos finds himself in a guilty situation, and Susan is embarrassed when Andre's students are found to be naked in class.

Susan begins to suspect that Amy is having an affair with Andre. Meanwhile, a delivery man attempts to deliver a package to Lynette. In another scene, a man discusses a blackout with a sponsor from A.A. As the housewives venture into the woods with shovels, they are unaware that they are being watched.

Bree is shocked to discover who was responsible for digging up the body of Gaby's stepfather. Meanwhile, Lynette's jealousy surfaces as she begins spreading false information to her daughter Penny about Tom's new girlfriend. Gaby and Carlos work to persuade Lee and Bob that Juanita and Celia have changed for the better, hoping to name them as guardians in their will. At the same time, Susan is determined to explore her inner self to uncover what truly inspires her, in an effort to improve her art and gain approval from her demanding art teacher, Andre.

Detective Chuck Vance becomes increasingly suspicious of Bree's possible involvement in Alejandro's disappearance and begins to harass her. Meanwhile, Susan faces a dilemma when she realizes she has used the murder of Gaby's stepfather as inspiration for her art school projects; she must find a tactful way to refuse art teacher Andre's (Miguel Ferrer) invitation to display and sell her work at a gallery. At the same time, Gaby intervenes when Carlos's drinking threatens his job, taking matters into her own hands by going to The Office to try to prevent the loss of a multi-million dollar account. On the occasion of their 22nd wedding anniversary, Lynette devises a plan to attempt to repair her marriage to Tom.

Gabrielle, believing the worst, becomes frantic in her search for Carlos after he suddenly leaves rehab. At the same time, a deeply troubled Bree spirals into a drinking binge, eventually finding herself in a dire situation.

Bree is about to end her life as she points a gun to her head, while Gaby suspects that the Carlos might be connected to Detective Vance's murder.

While in Oklahoma, Susan discovers that the late Alejandro had been sexually abusing his 15-year-old step-daughter, Marisa, just as he had previously abused Gabby. At the same time, Bree encounters an unpleasant surprise from a man she meets at a bar, Gabrielle attempts to bluff her way through a business dinner in an effort to impress a potential client for Carlos, and Mike discovers Ben engaging in inappropriate behavior in an attempt to save his struggling real estate project.

Karen McCluskey discovers details about Bree's personal life and becomes involved, while Bree unexpectedly encounters one of her past romantic partners. Meanwhile, Gabby opens up about her history to Alejandro's widow. After arranging a meeting, Renee faces consequences when the date between her hairdresser and Lynette goes awry.

Bree's personal life becomes increasingly complicated as her romantic entanglements spiral further out of control. Meanwhile, Susan discovers that Julie is pregnant, adding a new layer of tension to their dynamic. At the same time, Gabby faces a challenging issue at Juanita's school that requires her immediate attention.

Susan uncovers the identity of the father of Julie's baby, and Orson takes it upon himself to care for Bree as she recovers. When Mrs. McCluskey expels Roy from the house, Gabrielle offers him shelter but hesitates to help reconcile them when he proves to be an effective disciplinarian for her children. At the same time, after growing accustomed to her independence, Lynette becomes angry when Porter and Preston are evicted from their apartment and attempt to return home. Meanwhile, Mike reveals to Renee the severity of Ben's situation with a loan shark.

Susan offers to help the father of Julie's baby raise the child; Bree agrees to go to Maine with Orson, perhaps for good; Karen pleads with Gaby not to tell Roy about her condition; and the loan shark who threatened Ben sets out to ruin Renee.

When Susan discovers that Ben's loan shark is after him, she convinces Mike to go to the police. Mrs. McCluskey, who is dying of cancer, asks Bree to assist her in committing suicide. At Penny's birthday party, Tom's girlfriend, Jane, surprises Lynette. On his first day back at work, Carlos acts strangely, causing concern for Gaby.

On the day of a funeral for a beloved resident of Wisteria Lane, each of the housewives reflects on the impact this person had on their lives. At the same time, Bree is surprised when she is called in for questioning regarding the murder of Gaby's stepfather, Alejandro.

Bree is uncertain about Andrew's impending marriage. Gabrielle attempts to secure a job through an employment agency in an effort to teach Carlos and the children a lesson about responsibility. Lynette is determined to win back Tom, no matter what it takes. Susan's approach to parenting raises concerns for Julie. Meanwhile, Ben proposes marriage to Renee.

Carlos becomes concerned about Gabrielle's new job. An affair causes Susan to become suspicious. The police question a hotel owner regarding Alejandro's whereabouts. Bree requires a lawyer's assistance to clear the charges of Alejandro Perez's murder against her. Jane serves Lynette with divorce papers.

With Mike away, Susan tries to build a car for MJ's father-and-son school soapbox derby. Bree's attorney, Trip, discovers details of her past drunken sexual encounters and urges her to be honest about them to strengthen her legal case. Lynette attempts to create tension between Tom and his girlfriend, Jane, by flirting with his boss and encouraging him to assign more work to Tom. Gaby becomes angry with Carlos for trying to steal one of her wealthy personal shopper clients, Doris Roberts, and for asking her to assist with his new charity. Meanwhile, Renee learns that Ben is hiding a secret related to his connection with Bree—and the body discovered at his workplace.

In the penultimate episode leading into the two-hour finale of this landmark series, as her trial nears, Bree begins to fall for her attorney, Trip; Susan becomes concerned when Julie doubts Porter's commitment to be a hands-on father to their unborn baby; as Tom gets closer to being transferred to India for his job—thanks to Lynette—she begins to have second thoughts and tries to convince his boss to rescind the move; and the ladies are shocked about Gaby's nonchalant attitude as Bree continues to stand trial and take the fall for Carlos in the murder of Alejandro.

Bree's trial concludes with an unexpected confession. Tom begins the process of finalizing his divorce.

Everything that begins must eventually end. This episode of beginnings and endings takes us both backward and forward as we take our final walk down Wisteria Lane.
